I was born in Bellshill, Scotland. For those of you who don’t
know Scotland to that level of detail, Bellshill is a small working class town
about ten miles east of Glasgow, probably best known for its maternity
hospital, the Bellshill Speaker (local newspaper), Buckfast, and neds.
Most of my growing up days were spent in Uddingston, a small
working class town about eight miles east of Glasgow, probably best known for
its Tunnock’s caramel wafers and teacakes (although it also has its fair share
of Buckie bottles and Burberry scarves).
I graduated in 1995 from the University of Glasgow and in early
2001 moved across the Atlantic to live in sunny Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It
certainly beats the pissing down rain every other day and the biting cold wind
that inflicted me with P.S.S (Penis Shrinkage Syndrome) - each and every time I
made the walk from the train station to Uddingston Cross - as it howled up my
trouser leg like a ferret up a drainpipe. Nowadays if I want to cool down I go
indoors or take a dip in the pool.
I live with my wife Teri, my son Calum, and my two dogs,
Tyson and Xena.
